BOYS AND GIRLS TRACK TEAM

The track team is open to all students. There are no tryouts and children are allowed to progress at their own pace with the emphasis on health, fun and team spirit. The team does compete in a CYO Track League against teams from other parishes. There are 4 meets in the fall, 3 meets in the winter and 4 meets in the spring.

Speed and endurance are assets in just about any athletic activity and joining a track team will help develop these qualities, though we are definitely not an elite Olympic development program. Individual medals and team trophies are awarded at the meets, but the emphasis is always on effort instead of order of finish and always having FUN!

The fee for the entire year is $60.00 which covers a team uniform shirt and all meet entry fees.

The Diocese of Brooklyn has started a new CYO Flag Football League in Brooklyn and Queens. The St. Kevin Youth Guild has organized Flag Football teams for each of the three CYO Flag Football Divisions: Pee Wee, Bantam and Intermediate.

The Pee Wee Division is open to children in grades 4-5
(birth date must be on or after 1/1/2007).

The Bantam Division is open to children in grades 6-7
(birth date must be on or after 1/1/2005).

The Intermediate Division will be open to children in grade 8

Practice usually begins in mid-March and the season's opening weekend is usually the last weekend of March.  The season goes from late March - early June, which includes approximately eight (8) games usually played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings.  All teams participate in the Championship elimination tournament that usually occurs in early June. Youth participants learn the fundamentals of football, the rules of the game, good sportsmanship, as well as healthy lifestyle habits. The mission of our teams will be to develop confidence, self-esteem, and sportsmanship through the sport of Flag Football, while promoting physical and moral character development to all participants.
